Kimberley, NC (3 June 2011) The Monstermob Racing Team has just announced that their newest member is none other than ‘The First Lady of Motorsport’, Clare Vale from Gauteng, who will be joining the Kimberley based Drift Team in the 2011 season. Clare is well known for her national circuit racing exploits in a WesBank V8 Supercar Mustang, in which class she has notched up a number of notable achievements.

Team Owner, Otto Graven, said in a statement earlier that he believed in Clare’s ability to become a top contender in the drift scene. Otto later went on to comment about her progression with the intense training she has been undergoing at Monstermob Raceway over the past few weeks.  He said that he was impressed with her overall ability to implement and execute an instruction and at this rate she may make her debut in August this year.  Until then, Clare will be carrying on with her training and supporting her fellow team mates as Otto competes in the American Formula Drift Series, and Ronnie & Jason take on the local SUPA Drift Series held at Zwartkops Raceway.

“I’m totally committed to learning the art of drifting,” said Clare. “I’ve no doubt that drifting is going to become one of the most popular forms of motorsport in South Africa, and I’m thrilled to be joining one of the top teams.  Otto is a great mentor and with his training I’m looking forward to developing my skills.  The new Gatorback RAM drift Mustang is currently being built in the Monstermob Customs Shop and the car is going to be a real crowd pleaser!”

MMR is also building an identical Mustang to that of Clare’s and the team is looking forward to a double debut for these vehicles.

When we asked Otto to comment on future plans, his answer was simple and to the point, “You will just have to wait and see.” With a rather massive grin he set off to make final preparations for his trip to the U.S where he is competing in Round 3 of the Formula D Series.
